The glamorous and stunning Lana Turner starring as Lora Meredith in the classic 1959 drama Imitation of Life is the subject of this original oil on birch cut-out painting. This piece is a bit of a departure for me, as I also painted her subtitled line "I want more." just because I liked the way it looked... and who doesn't want more?! :) I sketched her out on a piece of 1/2" thick birch plywood, cut it out on my scroll saw, and painted her in oil paints. This piece is varnished with edges finished in black, signed and dated on reverse. Measuring approx 6" W x 7.5" H, and intended to be displayed on a bookshelf, mantle, or other flat surface, this piece stands on its own-- though I generally will prop against books just in case!
