My favorite jet-setting Queen of High Society, Lynn Wyatt is the subject of my very first oil on birch cut-out painting of 2022-- originally I was going to call the piece 'Howdy-do to '22', but opted instead for 'A Fine Howdy Do!' This original artwork is based upon a paparazzi shot of Lynn at the star-studded 1980 world premiere of of Urban Cowboy at Gilley's in Houston. I sketched her out on a piece of 1/2" thick birch plywood, cut it out on my scroll saw, and painted her in oil paints. This piece is varnished, with edges finished in black, signed and dated on reverse. Measuring approx 6.5" W x 6.5" H, and intended to be displayed on a bookshelf, mantle, or other flat surface, this piece stands on its own-- though this particular one is pretty tippy, so I would prop against books just in case!
